Faults: Small chip on tank and trafficator rubbers need replacing. One was snapped, as you can see, transporting it to Florida.

First time I saw a 900 Eliminator at Rykers, Surrey, England, I knew I wanted one.

Around 1994 I bought a ratty US import supposedly owned by a mechanic. Lack of funds made the renovation slow. New cam chain and wheel bearings, repair shaft-drive and cooling system. I used it as a daily rider to Univerity in London, alternating with my Suzuki GS750, as a subject for an AI case based reasoning system to diagnose faults with the cooling system, on charity rides with the Motorcycle Action Group and as a junior member of the London Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists. One night some low-life stole it.

In 1998, a short contract in Kansas City was extended. I searched the Internet for another ZL900 to take back to the UK. I found this one in Sacramento, CA. I flew out one Friday afternoon, bought the machine and headed back the 1,800 miles to KC. A huge storm and torrential rain made for tough going across Kansas, but I arrived home at 2 AM Monday. I have since made 2 short trips to Iowa for Ragbrai and participated in a charity ride raising $400.

Plans change, I never returned to England, married and moved to Florida to open a Bed and Breakfast. Again plans have changed, we now intend to buy an RV and probably return, eventually, to Missouri. Logistics require most my "toys" have to, including this Eleminator and my 1963 RHD Land Rover Series IIA.

It is with much reluctance that my beloved Eliminator is for sale. It is extremely quick and reliable. Only let me down once, which was my fault, a wire for the charging circuit became disconnected when I was messing with something else.
